I’m Samy Alves, a graphic designer who sees design as more than just visuals. To me, it is a bridge between people, culture, and ideas. Many say design is about problem solving, but I believe it is also about sharing a piece of your own world for others to experience, something no AI can truly replicate.

My eye for color, detail, and storytelling reflects how I see the world: alive, layered, and full of connections waiting to be discovered. Whether I am crafting identities, building digital experiences, or designing for print, I bring curiosity, empathy, and a touch of playfulness to everything I create.

my journey

my journey

I first fell in love with design and advertising while creating content for a church. That experience sparked my curiosity about what happens behind the scenes of ads and social media, eventually inspiring me to pursue a career as a Visual Designer.

In 2020, I began my academic journey at the Community College of Rhode Island, where I earned my Associate’s Degree in General Studies and received recognition in Digital Design and Video Art. Two years later, I continued my education at Johnson & Wales University, where I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and proudly received the 2024 Best Web Design Award.

my true

roots

I have always been fascinated by how design can shape experiences and communicate without words. Through internships, collaborative projects, and professional roles, I have grown as a designer by learning to adapt, research, and refine my craft. Exploring different areas of design has shown me how much I can pour my creativity, passion, and emotions into what I create, and that is what I love most about being a designer.

Born and raised in Brazil, and now shaping my path between two worlds, my work carries the vibrant energy of my Latino roots combined with the thoughtful precision of global design. With experience in branding, editorial, UI/UX, and web design, I see every project as an opportunity to create something intentional, human, and deeply connected to the people it serves.
